Wie fanden wir zusammen
Wie der Zufall es will fanden wir uns irgendwann in demselben Konzern wieder. Bei einer Firmenfeier wurde das erste Mal zusammen gespielt. Sehr schnell war klar, dass wir musikalisch auf einem Pfad wanderten.
The name: Peanut Butter Jelly Pie ! Everytime we pronounce our name to our audience, it always produces faces of surprise and confusion. Of course, the question is often asked “How did you come to choose such an unusual name?”.
Well it was a Sunday afternoon and the band members were seeted around the an old oak dinner table and were trying to come up with a name for the band. We had thought of a number of names that would include the names of the band members. I recall we had some rather silly names like “BUTF”, TBM (The Bacground Musicians), they were all pretty unimpressive.
Our main aim was to find a name that did not really pigeon hole the type of music that we would play. We didn’t want something like “The Soul Players” or “The Blues Band” because we wanted to play many different types of music and to be able to reach a wide audience with many different Music Gendres.
Suddenly my son joined us at the table and said “What about Peanut Butter Jelly Pie” I asked him “Where did you here that name” he shook his head. We Googled it and were happy to find that it was not the name of a band.
It Just fit. It was a funny, non-specific description and it just fit. Thanks Jordan !
